Romantic Destination Photoshoot in Lake Como, Italy

Lake Como Destination Photoshoot

Who doesnt dream of a Lake Como Photoshoot! We had the absolute best time capturing Sidney and Reed during our time in Lake Como, Italy. We met this lovely couple during our visit to Villa Monastero. The vibe of this photoshoot was editorial blending ethereal garden feels into it. It was the perfect combination for a stunning day.

The Story Behind the Shoot

We traveled to Lake Como to scout locations for our bride and groom. Our final call with them occurred one month before their wedding, which was scheduled in St. Gallen, Switzerland. They wanted to visit Villa Balbianello for their post-wedding photoshoot. However, we quickly discovered that the Villas require booking three months in advance, and the photoshoots are not private sessions. They cost 600 euros for a one-hour session with one photographer and the couple. So, we headed to Varenna to find some picturesque spots, but honestly, every place in Lake Como is perfect!

We ended up meeting the son of a villa owner, and he let us use his terrace for a photoshoot. Talk about a dream come true!

What to Wear in Lake Como

Due to the beautiful backdrop and neutral colors of the buildings, whites, pastels and jewel tones photograph beautifully! Also flowy materials look stunning as well.

Planning a Photoshoot in Lake Como

Truthfully planning a photoshoot in Lake Como is not that difficult, but there are some things that need to be planned ahead of time. Such as renting a wooden boat or doing a photoshoot at a Villa. We recommend beginning the process 6 months before. But, also having a buffer window if planning a boat tour in case of rain. The cost of renting the boats is about 350-600 euros. Depending on how long the tour is and how many individuals will be on the boat.

Here are some contacts that make the planning process easy.
